Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How do I check the status of my application(s)?
A:
 Follow these steps:

  • Log into your profile.
  • Click on the tab "Application Status" under Applications.

Also, you can view your resume by logging in to your profile and selecting the 'Create/Update Resume' link and then select 'View Original Resume'. Please press and hold down the 'Ctrl' button when attempting to view your resume. This will bypass the popup blocker, if enabled.

Q: What do the application statuses "applied, routed, interviewed, offered, pursuing other candidates and final screen" mean?
A:
Applied: You have applied for the position.
Routed: You have met the basic qualifications for the position and your resume has been routed (sent) to the hiring manager.
Interviewed: You have been selected for an interview by the hiring manager.
Offered: You have been offered the position.
Pursing other Candidates: You have not been selected for an interview.
Final Screen: The recruiter is in the process of reviewing applicants.
Hold: The position is under administrative review.

Q: What software program should I use to upload my resume?
A:
We prefer that you upload your resume in the Microsoft Word format. If you are using Office 2007, please save your resume as a 'Word 97-2003' document before attempting to upload it in to your profile. 

Q: I forgot my password.
A: Current Henry Ford Employees:

  • Contact the IT Help Desk to request a new self-service password.

External Applicants:

  • Please go to www.henryfordcareers.com
  • Click on the tab "Apply Online."
  • Scroll down to "Are you new to Henry Ford?"
  • Click on "Your Dream Job is here."

  • Click on the link, "I forgot my password."

Q: How do I update/edit my personal information and/or resume?
A:
Current Henry Ford Employees: 

  • Please go to Employee Self Service via HRConnect on HenryFordConnect.com. 
  • Click on the link "Sign on to HR" on upper right hand corner. 
  • Click on "Employee Self Service" and login using your credentials. 
  • After you log into self-service, you are then connected to the home page. 
  • If you need to change your address and/or phone numbers, you must make changes under the personal information tab in Self-service before you apply for jobs.

External Applicants:

  • Click on the tab "Apply Oneline"

A:

Q:  Are new job opportunities only posted on Tuesdays like the old Career Opportunity Bulletin?
A:
  New possitions are posted every day as they are approved.

Q: I keep getting a blue screen or it takes me back to the main page.
A:
Because we are unaware of your computer settings, one suggestion would be to delete your cookies and files within Internet Explorer. If that does not help, you may want to use a public computer (e.g. Public Library, Local MichWorks Office, University, etc.) Also, if you are attaching a résumé, please reference the FAQ sheet for the resume formats compatible with our website.

Q: The position was posted on CareerBuilder, MI Talent Bank, etc. but when I visit your website it is not listed anymore.
A:
If a position is not listed on our website, it is no longer available. Please visit our website for updated postings.

Q: What happens after my resume is routed to the hiring manager?
A:
Once your resume is forwarded, the hiring manager will review the resumes and decide which candidates to interview. If you are granted an interview, you will receive a phone call.

Q: How do I verify employment with Henry Ford Health System?
A:

Q: What does the status of “Withdrawn” mean?
A:
The status of “Withdrawn” means that your application has been taken out of the candidate pool for the position in which you applied. The most common reason a candidate’s application is withdrawn is due to multiple applications.
